TDM 004: BACK TO SCHOOL

A: Garden Level - Fall IN!
[The garden is full of fruits and overflowing with milk and honey as usual, truly a paradise. But gasp, what's this? A PALLET CHANGE? Instead of the typical lush green, it's taken on more Autumn colors for AestheticTM. It's still pleasantly warm as usual though, for current denizens and newbies alike, and it's gosh darn nice to hang out in.
But speaking of newbies and passerbys! If you pop in, you'll find yourself landing in a pile of colorful leaves. But these ain't no normal leaves!! Depending on the color, you may experience the following:
Yellow- Get energized nerd!! Despite just dying, you're suddenly filled to the brim with joy, and far more amicable to the first people you see.
Orange- Ever heard of love at first sight?? IT'S HAPPENING NOW. You may become absolutely smitten with the first few folks that help you out of your pile.
Red- Or the complete opposite! You're filled with the POWER OF AGGRO and ready to argue or fight with whoever you see first!
Or maybe you fall in a pile of mixed leaves that give you a combo of effects, or nullify the effect so nothing happens! Up to you. ]

B, Hell Level: Spooky Scary Skeletons
[Down at the HellRaiser hotel, it's already practically halloween 24/7, but now even more so! The standard hellish hotel amenities are available--massages, hot saunas, all the booze and drugs you could ever want, room service, etc!
But the perpetual night life is where it's at. In celebration of the most unholy season of the year (citation needed), the clubs are HOPPING and playing music loud enough it could raise the (un)dead. . .literally! You could be walking on your way back from getting a burger, and skeleton or zombie bursts from the ground! They might attack you or. . .try to get you to dance with them. Weird. Either way, don't linger too long, or they'll try to get you to go back further into the depths with them. . .
Alternatively maybe you're just accosted by some normal party demons/imps and dragged into a club. Have fun!]

C, Heaven Level: The Holy Spirit Halloween
[Heaven-side, the heavenly hotel is its normal, pampering self, complete with every luxurious amenity you could imagine. However, it seems some parts of the hotel are decorated with more. . .demonic accents??
It's not just the hotel either. Outside, spot angels in all sorts of costumes, ranging from black cats to silly godzilla rubber suits. That's right, TIS THE SEASON, and it's the only time angels get to indulge in more silly ~sinful~ desires! Is this cultural appropriation?? Don't worry about it.
As for you, if you're not chillin' at a cat cafe or the gorgeous beach or a coffee shop, you may find a cherub stuffing you into a silly costume. When in Rome!! You may also come across huge golden depots full of costumes, so feel free to shop around! The cherubs within will also see to your every need, as if they're extensions of the hotel as well]

[If there was a hit on Stella, he might have competition on who got to her first all things considering. But, the hit wouldn't be coming from Stolas. He wasn't about to sink down to her level no matter how much she tries to drag him down to it.
However, the moment there's even the barest hint of a threat towards Octavia, Stolas stills and stares at Striker. Whatever uneasiness and fear he had for the imp suddenly fled as his eyes are already glowing. His feathers start to darken closer to his more monstrous form at even the suggestion of something happening to her.
And for a moment, he remains eerily still, just staring down the cowboy imp before he speak.]
As much as I appreciate the warning, not even death will prevent me from protecting my beloved Starfire.
[There's a sense of power in his voice as the lights in the room start flickering. Suddenly they go out only to pop back up with Stolas standing over Striker.]
And if I find out that you hurt her or even think of taking money to harm one feather on Octavia's head from anyone, there will be no place in Hell you can hide.
[And as suddenly as the lights started flickering, they stopped and everything does back to normal with Stolas standing a little ways away from him again.]
I do hope you understand.

Despite his attempts to look outwardly unfazed, his claws dig into the sofa and the tip of his tail begins to rattle. Those four glowing red owl orbs are staring directly into him. Hissing like an alligator, he presses back into the sofa like he means to pass right through it and disappear.
Needless to say he's relieved when the lights flicker back to normal and, in a blink, the owl demon is no longer in his face. The rattling, however, continues and he quickly grabs the tip of his tail, silencing it abruptly.]
...Yeah, yeah. Understood.
[Guess he really does care about the kid. Striker keeps a sharp eye on the demon prince as he stands nearby, keen on not letting him get the better of him again.]
Won't be me you have to worry about. Stella pays good but she's fickle minded. I want clients who pay me to kill the fuckin' target, not spare 'em.
[She embarrassed him in front of the one person whose opinion he values most — himself. It didn't feel right and he doesn't want to be put in that position again.]

[Despite being something to fear moments ago, Stolas is back to looking like his harmless self. He's still a little tense but, a bit more in control of himself now that he's seen that he can strike a little fear into Striker.
Just so long as there isn't any angelic rope around to bind him at least.]
I'm well aware of how fickle Stella is. I was married to her for seventeen years after all. Now, if I have to hire Octavia body guards, I will. In fact, I might have one in mind.
[He turns his attention back to Striker with a little bit of a devious smile.]
After all, you did best me and the only one I've seen that can defeat you is Blitzy and his employees. If Octavia ever arrives here and is in trouble. I just might have a job for you.
no subject
I'm an assassin for hire, not a bodyguard. Especially not for blue-bloods like you. If you need help, you better hope your little Blitzy or his Goetia Defense Squad is around to answer your call. Better yet, keep her outta trouble yourself. Any halfway decent father should be able to accomplish that.
[Huff! He folds his arms across his chest while his tail tip flops back and forth on the couch beside him with irritable twitches. Halfway decent dads are a rare find but they do exist. He knows because he used to have one until {REDACTED} happened.]
And for the record, it was two against one when they beat me. Next time one of them fucks with me or meddles in my business, I won't be playin' around.
no subject
If they were, you wouldn't have been able to kidnap me at all. And while I do try my best to keep Octavia out of harms way like any decent parent should, even I know there are things I can't protect her from.
[He frowns slightly. Just admitting that makes him feel uneasy.]
For example, I can't always protect her from her own Mother or her Uncle if I'm not with her. I am trying to do the best I can by her and if that means hiring someone with less than stellar morals who seemingly hates blue-bloods but is willing to take their money, then so be it.
[While he IS a Goetian Prince, Stolas knows he's limited. Besides, he doubts Octavia would appreciate him hovering over her like an over protective parent. Even.. if he is one.]
That's the funny thing about those two. You will never find just one or the other. I've noticed that they are always together.
no subject
I accept payment from blue-bloods with every intention of using it against 'em. Not that I have much choice — y'all are the ones with all the money. Either way, I'll make damn sure the ends justify the means.
[Fuck you, he ain't a hypocrite! ...Okay, he's a hypocrite SOME times. Oh what, like you've never been a little hypocritical to make ends meet?]
Anyway, those two put up a fun fight, I'll give 'em that, but they owe me a radio and a hat rack.
no subject
[He studies his claws for a moment. Can we say Hypocrite? Yes, yes we can. Besides, he never said he wasn't on occasion, only that he isn't being one right now.]
And while we have money, we also have no issue spending it and putting it back out into the economy. Besides, when I hire someone for a service, I usually pay them more than their asking price for whatever that service is. So perhaps you should be more discerning over which blue-bloods you target.
[He also won't deny that Moxie and Millie are excellent in a fight.]
While I understand the radio, you forget that I saw this so called 'hat rack' and that was most definitely NOT one. Where did you even get a statue that big of yourself anyway? It was kind of impressive if a little narcissistic.
no subject
Striker doesn't have any remarks to add to that part of the conversation. Instead, he looks away trying to seem more disinterested than thoughtful. Until Stolas snags him with the statue thing. Now he just looks annoyed. He tips his head back and gives the owl prince A Look that spans three long seconds of silence. You want an honest answer, Stolas? Fine.]
I bought it with blue-blood money. Specifically, the blue-blood who fucked me over. I wanted to spend it on somethin' he'd hate. He didn't have a grave to piss on so I found a different way to dishonor his memory.
[He looks down at his folded arms, avoiding Stolas' gaze.]
Didn't turn out exactly the way I thought it would. When I ordered it, I told 'em I wanted a big statue of me but make it functional, I needed a good place to hang my hat. And when they delivered it, well... you saw it.
[It was NOT what he was expecting, but it was functional enough. He also maybe had a little too much to drink at the time he placed that order. No one to blame but himself for that.]</small
no subject
Which one was it? They must have really pissed you off to go to such length.
[There might be a little twitch of a smile over the...interpretation the statue maker had of Striker's request. He still doesn't consider it a hat rack, but, it IS pretty funny now he knows the story behind it.]
With that vague of a description, it's no wonder you got what you got. You really should have been more careful with the wording in your order then. Or been more careful on who you ordered it from.
I don't remember if it made it through the fight between you and the little assassins.
no subject
He did more than piss me off. He was a pompous, sadistic piece of shit. The kind who took pleasure in ruining other people's lives he considered beneath him.
[He lets that hang for a moment, letting the silence do some of the talking. Stolas can probably guess whose life might've been among those ruined.]
Maybe you knew him, maybe you didn't. Doesn't matter. He did not get away with it, I promise you that.
no subject
[Did he know whoever it was? Probably at least in passing. However, Stolas also simply does not care for the rest of them usually. Perhaps, one or two but.. not many.
However, watching Striker's reactions? Yes, he can guess who's life might have been ruined by whoever it was. ]
So, chances are I probably did in some way. Of course, I don't meddle in the affairs of others so if they were stupid enough to piss someone off and suffer the consequences, then good riddance.
no subject
[Just the thought of that bastard makes him feel like there's something around his neck, uncomfortably tight and burning. It's enough to make him reach up with a clawed hand and gingerly rub the side of his neck just to shake the feeling.]
He was my first target, and I was my first client. Once he was dead, I grabbed whatever valuables of his I could carry and cashed 'em in as payment.
[Striker regards Stolas through narrowed eyes for a moment as though he's making an assessment.]
I'll admit, you ain't as bad as he was...
