It's more a meaning of complete and total disrespect for authority, and tradition, anything anyone holds as "sacred," the final step before the most devout would reach Buddhadom. It's that I want people to eat, have luxuries, be happy, enjoy life -- or Hell, rather than die just to reincarnate. The religious zealots would rather they toiled, starved, didn't even have hair, clothes, music, or art, because all that is wasteful and won't help them increase ranks by death. And I'd rather abolish the castes entirely, and let people enjoy themselves based on the here and now, not have to 'earn' it by dying and leave it all up to luck.
