TDM 003 - SUMMER
A: Garden Level - OOPS YOU DIED
[CONGRATS YOU DIED. Sucks for you!! But Abe and Lucy are DETERMINED to get paperwork done and to do that, they need to get to know YOU.
So as soon as you appear, no matter if you're going to heaven or hell, you get slapped with a "HELLO MY NAME IS ____" sticker by one of the sheep. Said sticker has two possible effects:
-The sticker may say your "True" name or a nickname you don't like, or an alias, etc. How did it get there?? Paperwork. There is a chance it's blank and you can write your own name too.
-Whenever they see a person, they will be compelled to shout "HELLO MY NAME IS [their name] AND I LIKE [something they like.]"
We speed therapying this shit. ]
B: SUMMER HELL
[Whether you're a demon or an angel, eventually you may want to visit the HellRaiser hotel below! Hell is where all the HIP HAPPENING THINGS are after all. Want a lava bath? Go to a club? Gamble?? Just get fucking drunk? Hell's your place.
However, despite being the afterlife, even hell is not immune from the heat of summer. And it's taking the whole flames of hell thing literally. So!
-You might be minding your own business, and suddenly part of your body or clothing just, fucking ignites on fire. Good luck with that!
-You may get badgered by demonic vendors, trying to push various summer t-shirts on you.
-You might get roped into some demons fucking EMBRACING THE HEAT. Ever been tied to a giant fire spit oven an open flame?? YOU HAVE NOW. Maybe someone will help you, or you can handle yourself just fine.
Or you might get lucky and none of that happens and you're just vibing. Good on you!!]
C: Heaven is Central Air Conditioning
[Heaven-side, the heavenly hotel is its normal, luxurious self except for one key different. . .A/C. That's right, only the hotels in Heaven have working air conditioning. Fucked up!! So chilling up here might be the right call. You can always go visit the beach too, or any of the delightful coffee shops. Heaven also is the only place to get caffeine. Wack.
Of course, even heaven is prone to wackiness. Newbies may be prone to:
-Like hell, there are plenty of vendors up here, but instead of cash, today they ask for payment in...jokes? Better give your best one.
-Cherubs may be especially pushy and try to get you dressed in extremely stuffy/heavenly clothing. Enjoy your corsets and such.
-At the beach, if you sun bathe too long without protection, oops! You may find your skin (fur, scales, whatever) turning not red, but another ridiculous color.
OR AGAIN, JUST DO WHATEVER. WHOMST CAN STOP YOU?? You have a phone just text strangers do what you want.]

-"Ash this TDM seems kinda half assed" IT'S SUMMER AND I'M TIRED also with July having no themed event I wanted this TDM to be pretty generic so people can hop in without worrying about timelines!
-This TDM is open to all! For now, you do NOT need to join the comm to play in it!

Well that's unexpected, to say the least. Shiro stops in his tracks. He'd been expecting the Keith he'd last seen, maybe with similar alterations. But this is... this is almost someone else entirely. Someone who looks just as shocked to see him.
Hair...?
"You... Your face. What happened?" It's such a genuinely stunned question. Like Keith showed up with a freshly missing limb or something. Of course he's going to notice that before, the 'my bro is so much taller' thing. "Did someone do that to you, here?"

"N-no... Not here..."
But the hair... the arm... Why would Shiro not remember that? This looked like a younger version that hadn't been through it, yet. It was like he hadn't even been through what led to that fight, yet.
"You're... younger." He wasn't sure what to say. As his brain rattled through some ideas like alternate realities and other things that could potentially be the reason, he began to wonder if saying too much could be a problem. Like in those weird sci-fi time travel stories where they made a big deal about not meeting your past or future self. Knowing too much could have serious consequences.
Did he need to tread carefully here?
He needed to think. Could something like this even happen?
Or was this another of Honerva's tricks? Had she come back?
Keith's frame was tense, but it was the most visible in those wings. They looked ready to fly at any moment.

He's so worried. So legitimately worried. He starts to step forward, hand held out. Something's so off here, he can't help but want to try and help out. Try to do something to make this better.
But ... younger?
(Come on Keith, the hair fluff is its normal size, that's got to be a dead giveaway.)
The concern on his face is mixed with complete confusion. As far as he knew, he'd only been here a couple weeks at most. Nothing longer than that. Unless time moves differently here?
"I don't know what's happening. But - you know if I can do something, or help, I'm here for you."

"Shiro, that was..." Keith took a deep breath. "That was a few years ago for me."
But, if Shiro was from that point, then this was really Shiro. This wasn't another of Honerva's tricks... right? Still, something held him back. Something kept Keith's feet firmly stuck to the ground where he stood instead of letting him move closer to his brother.

"... years?"
Suddenly, he feels like he needs to sit down. So he does. Just right there on the ground. There's absolutely no reason not to trust what he's being told here. Keith wouldn't lie to him. Not to mention... years would explain how Keith looks so different.

"Shiro!" He didn't shout, but his tone was urgent as he dropped into a crouch in front of the other man, then just ended up dropping the rest of the way to his knees anyway.
"Shiro... I..." He took a breath, trying to figure out what to say. "I don't get it," he said. "You were there. You were there back home with us." Hence Keith's comment earlier about Shiro looking younger, and his hesitation in thinking this might be another situation like what Honerva had done, but... She was...

He'd left them for years? Just up and disappeared on the people who needed him? Again? His brain doesn't want to process this. Doesn't want to accept this. All it lets him do is sit there, staring at the ground, those thoughts running through his head.
Keith's there, abruptly. Right in front of him. He blinks, trying to focus without letting himself spiral. It's not easy. He'd abandoned them. He'd disappeared on them. He'd -
What?
That gets his attention back, if nothing else. "I was... there? What are you talking about?"

"I don't know." He didn't. This whole situation was just weird, and Keith didn't have the knowledge to fully express what was going on here. He took a breath, trying to think of something. "It's like they're messing with time, or-..." He stopped himself. "Or we're from different realities..." Keith's voice trailed off. If the last thing Shiro knew from home was the mission to rescue Slav, then he wouldn't know about Voltron's ability to jump between realities.

At least that is 100% Shiro. Not some other weirdo version of him. Only Shiro could be that irritated about a space ferret.

"You seem really sure of that option," he said quietly. It had been a few years, but Keith had noticed that eye twitch earlier at the mention of Slav. And he could remember a bit about all the things where he talked about things going right or wrong in different realities...
And that Sven, the guy who looked a heck of a lot like Shiro, seemed to be best friends with him. Would Shiro even believe that?
Keith let it go for the moment. Maybe Shiro was trying so hard to believe in it being time because he didn't want to think about Slav. Not that Keith really wanted to think about him that much, either, but he had to admit that the eccentric genius had managed to help them out despite all the weirdness.

He shakes his head, pushing his hands through his hair. While he's having this crisis, the halo over his head (that he is NOT acknowledging, thank you) seems like it's gone supernova - bright fiery colors, stars, swirling around. As he starts to calm down, though, it steadies. Back to normal, calm galaxy colors of dark blue, black and purple.
Deep breaths. Steady. Sure, Keith is different, older, taller, but this is still his brother.
"We can figure it out while we're here. There has to be someone else who's experienced that kind of thing too."

"Yeah... yeah, we can figure that out."
He was kind of mesmerized by the halo for a moment, staring as it settled back down to what it had been when he first spotted Shiro. Like, sure, they might have figured out what was going on with their base appearances, but then there were the other changes... the ones that this place had put on them.
"So, uh... I'm guessing you're on the Heaven side..." he said hesitantly.
