TDM 003 - SUMMER

A: Garden Level - OOPS YOU DIED
[CONGRATS YOU DIED. Sucks for you!! But Abe and Lucy are DETERMINED to get paperwork done and to do that, they need to get to know YOU.
So as soon as you appear, no matter if you're going to heaven or hell, you get slapped with a "HELLO MY NAME IS ____" sticker by one of the sheep. Said sticker has two possible effects:
-The sticker may say your "True" name or a nickname you don't like, or an alias, etc. How did it get there?? Paperwork. There is a chance it's blank and you can write your own name too.
-Whenever they see a person, they will be compelled to shout "HELLO MY NAME IS [their name] AND I LIKE [something they like.]"
We speed therapying this shit. ]

B: SUMMER HELL
[Whether you're a demon or an angel, eventually you may want to visit the HellRaiser hotel below! Hell is where all the HIP HAPPENING THINGS are after all. Want a lava bath? Go to a club? Gamble?? Just get fucking drunk? Hell's your place.
However, despite being the afterlife, even hell is not immune from the heat of summer. And it's taking the whole flames of hell thing literally. So!
-You might be minding your own business, and suddenly part of your body or clothing just, fucking ignites on fire. Good luck with that!
-You may get badgered by demonic vendors, trying to push various summer t-shirts on you.
-You might get roped into some demons fucking EMBRACING THE HEAT. Ever been tied to a giant fire spit oven an open flame?? YOU HAVE NOW. Maybe someone will help you, or you can handle yourself just fine.
Or you might get lucky and none of that happens and you're just vibing. Good on you!!]

C: Heaven is Central Air Conditioning
[Heaven-side, the heavenly hotel is its normal, luxurious self except for one key different. . .A/C. That's right, only the hotels in Heaven have working air conditioning. Fucked up!! So chilling up here might be the right call. You can always go visit the beach too, or any of the delightful coffee shops. Heaven also is the only place to get caffeine. Wack.
Of course, even heaven is prone to wackiness. Newbies may be prone to:
-Like hell, there are plenty of vendors up here, but instead of cash, today they ask for payment in...jokes? Better give your best one.
-Cherubs may be especially pushy and try to get you dressed in extremely stuffy/heavenly clothing. Enjoy your corsets and such.
-At the beach, if you sun bathe too long without protection, oops! You may find your skin (fur, scales, whatever) turning not red, but another ridiculous color.
OR AGAIN, JUST DO WHATEVER. WHOMST CAN STOP YOU?? You have a phone just text strangers do what you want.]
OOC NOTES:
-"Ash this TDM seems kinda half assed" IT'S SUMMER AND I'M TIRED also with July having no themed event I wanted this TDM to be pretty generic so people can hop in without worrying about timelines!
-This TDM is open to all! For now, you do NOT need to join the comm to play in it!
-Post questions for the mods here
-Remember, playing in the TDM does NOT guarantee your entry or app being accepted into the game proper later down the line!
-Apps open!! Be sure to read the rules linked there and check the current taken list!
-For current players: TDMs count as game canon AND threads may be used for AC if you wish!
-Remember regardless of your alignment, you are free to travel to whatever level you wish!
i sense a beautiful friendship on the horizon
[ hm. that sounds suspiciously close to something a bellhop would say. the twitching noted, he files that little tidbit of information away for a later date. at the imitation comment, he smiles. ]
Alastor, of course, I suppose your new look caught me by surprise. I never expected the infamous Radio Demon to prefer pastels. Admittedly, you have me at a disadvantage. I know very little about you, save for the fact that Adam overpowered you into fleeing the battle.
[ he gestures to the pastel suit idly. ]
Are you in hiding or is it another one of these clerical errors?
such a good friendship :|
[this is the TDM and Daily is full up on characters, after all! Wait. No -- he doesn't know that. But he does know a grand majority of people that end up here also end up leaving just as quickly.
He tilts his head, smile more of a sneer. Adam... He had the first man on the ropes before... that.]
Hmph. Not surprising that's all you've heard. Well, I think I did quite a bang up job! A single Sinner lasting that long against an archangel! Unheard of. [he adjusts the lapels of his coat] But you can chalk up this color-scheme to the silly little sheeps' clerical errors. White is very much not my color.

[ true, true. they will always have the tdm to look upon fondly. after a pause, he cants his head off to one side and chooses to humor him. ]
You could fill in the blanks, but I think I have all the information I need. I was impressed, right up until the point where you let your pride get the best of you. You had the upper hand but lost it because you were accustomed to winning. Taunting an opponent with an ego the size of a small country nearly cost you dearly.
[ he is very matter-of-fact with his delivery and, surprisingly, isn’t trying to goad him into a fight. but if he has any sort of actual ties to Lucifer, he needs to be aware of his flaws. ]
As Lucifer’s associate, I hope you will take fewer risks in the future. [ no, Alastor, white is the furthest thing from your color. ] I suppose the red was more convenient when it came to hiding evidence of your crimes.
[ of which he is sure there are many. ]

[he bristles, static buzzing in irritation. How DARE he? He wasn't even THERE. Rrrgghhhh... But... Michael is right. As much as he is loathe to admit it. He got a big head and it cost him the fight. He smooths himself over and continues in a placid tone]
Yes. Well. I got too caught up in the fun of having a real challenge, for once. But make no mistake, you won't catch me playing with my food like that again. [a wistful sigh] After all that work, I didn't even have a bite. [he says nothing about the red. Because it's true :)]

[ at the static, he folds his hands in front of him while training his smile on him. no excuses speaks volumes, especially from someone so full of pride for his power. maybe this one isn’t as hopeless as he initially thought. ]
One day, I may find myself down there in Adam’s place, albeit with a cooler head. Fighting against Lucifer brings me no pleasure but if you’re intending to have a feast, you’ll leave as empty-handed as you did before.
It isn’t because I have a vendetta against demons, Adam acted impulsively and paid for it. I’ll do what I have to do for Heaven, just as you tried to do for your Hotel.

[Look, sometimes all it takes to knock the pride right out of ya is Almost Fucking Dying For Real Forever. He laughs at the idea of Michael -- THE Michael -- being sent down to Hell] Aha ha ha!! My, my. We will be in trouble if the big man sends you to deal with us. [he taps his microphone cane into his hand, then shakes his head] I highly doubt that will ever be necessary. I honestly believe most of the Sinners in Hell have no interest in Heaven as long as they are left alone.
no subject
Observe. I can move freely between Heaven and Hell here. Despite what some of you may think, we aren’t all mindless creatures hellbent on destroying Sinners. None of you have wronged me and, as you’ve yet to attack me, I’ll extend you the same courtesy.
War is exhausting and costly. I don’t know how long this place has been here but an invitation is no longer necessary to enter Heaven. If Hell wanted to take it over, they’ve had ample time to do so. As far as I’m concerned, this is neutral territory. Without His decree, I’m merely an observer.
[ he sighs, pausing to mull something over. ]
If you think He is going to turn a blind eye to what happened, then you would be mistaken. It’s not a matter of if, but when. Heaven has finally seen what Hell is capable of and, without Adam, someone will have to oversee the training of the new Exorcists. There is no one better suited to the task than me.
[ it should be a point of pride for him but it doesn’t seem to be at the moment. ]
no subject
And what, exactly, happened that would require His divine attention? Adam broke the rules of engagement and perished for it. Sinners only took advantage of what wasteful, foolish Exorcists left behind, like litter at a picnic. To protect themselves from an incursion, I might add! Everything that happened only COULD happen because your people were careless. [he waves a hand, again dismissive] I may have been out of touch for a few years short of a decade, but before that, I had my finger on the pulse of the Overlords. Not a single one ever showed any interest in storming Heaven's gates, and I don't see that changing any time soon. Most of the people in Hell belong there, Michael, and they know it. They enjoy it. There's nothing Heaven has that they want.
no subject
[ and you, sir, are bad news. no matter what kind of assurances Lucifer gives him later, he will never see Alastor as anything more than a predator clawing his way to the top through any means necessary. actions speak louder than word but, at least to him, Alastor was protecting an asset at the hotel, not the people living within the walls. had Lucifer not showed up, Charlie would have died and the bloodshed that followed would be biblical. ]
So I’ve gathered, do you really think Hell was the first place I visited? Heaven, The Garden—both are poor substitutes, I can only imagine that trickles down into Hell as well. It isn’t Hell that I want to observe, but the people in it. I want to see if all of this was worth the price he paid.
[ as he said, he isn’t here to entertain him or his questions but, as he started this, it would be rude to walk away now. if he is going to observe them, it only stands to reason that they may do the same. ]
Adam was reckless but gave Him what He needed with his dying breath. If a rogue angel can cause that much chaos, so could a demon.. if he had enough power. [ don’t mind that pointed stare, Alastor. ] If you’ve been in Lucifer’s company long enough, I’m sure you’ve heard about how steadfast our Father can be. Once He makes a decision, he rarely changes course. The moment evil was born and had a place to call home, He was never going to turn a blind eye to it.
The second the first Exorcist was killed, these events were put into motion. He didn’t cast the first stone, Hell did by fighting back against a deal that was put into place before any of you were even born. You may not care for Heaven but you know that a deal is binding. Tell me, as a deal-maker yourself, could you turn a blind eye to someone who couldn’t live up to their end of the bargain?
