[It may be November in the real world but when you're dead time is fake! So this week/month GARDENFEST is happening...........aka a bootleg mishmash of Oktoberfest and an Xmas Market. In general: PARTY TIME.

Drinks! Foods! Bad singing!! Drunkenly built gingerbread houses! You're thrown in a festive identity clash of imps and cherubs in the garden playing music that doesn't match or shoving drinks at you. Don't worry, if you don't want a mug of beer, it might just be gingerale! Anyway sorry you died but PARTY PARTY JOIN US JOIN US--]

B, Hell Level: ICE to meet you!
[Down at the HellRaiser hotel, the hellish amenities await your every need, but spooky season is over. Aside from the usual, er, allure of Hell, it also seems to be slowly freezing over. Ruh roh. It's not much now, but occasionally you may be hit by a teeny tiny icicle as you explore, awww. Other times it's a whole fucking STALACTITE crashes down on you. Better dodge or hope someone pushes you out the way!! Look out for slick sidewalks too!

Otherwise, hey have some fun in Hell!! Go to a club, get some drugs, go to a casino, win and get mugged!! Ever have a drink made out of literal MAGMA? Go on, try it!! Slaps hell's cobbled brimstone you can fit so much chaos down here!]

C, Heaven Level: Spice, spice, baby.
[Heaven-side, the cherubs are ready to welcome you and give you the VIP treatment!! Massages! Manipedis! Lavish outfits and attention! You can raise your hand and just get a fucking cat sat on your lap! Truly, this is bliss!!

Oh, but it's also cozy season in Heaven! So along with the best fits for the chillier weather, There are an assortment of beverages being offered by angels for you to sample (CW Mind Manipulation):

Apple Spiced Latte- Tasty and earthy! But you suddenly feel more subservient.
Cranberry Spiced Latte- A bit tart but it works. This might make you sassier than usual.
Stuffing Spiced Latte- There is no effect. Why would you drink this you monster.

For the TDM you can find small cherub-run kiosks with these drinks on any level you prefer! If that's not your cuppa joe, feel free to explore the beauty of Heaven per usual! The beach! Boardwalk! All the cafes!! Whatever heaven should have, you can likely find it.]

[Jounouchi's familiarity is annoying. Kaiba's tail snaps behind him, the scaly partitions striking the floor loudly. He's not sure why he does it, only that it doesn't hurt, and in fact makes him feel better. Bleeding out the aggression?!]

And what of it? Far more original than "redeyes", and it's not untrue.

[He raises an imperceptible eyebrow at the rest of Jounouchi's answer, as it pertains to Kaiba's levied insult. Scars? Scars from what?

I don't know why I'm giving you the time of day--maybe you're right, and it's a distraction from all of this. Still, you must enjoy being crushed into the dirt if you're not reconsidering.

But then, who am I to deny a guaranteed victory?

[Challenge failed. Kaiba is an ass.

He turns on his heel--no literally he's in some pretty high heels, what's up with that?--and with a flip of his coat, he's leading the way to their place of battle. Keep up, loser!]

[Where Kaiba's body language reads anger, Jonouchi's is perhaps painfully optimistic- and canid. His tail just swishes back and forth behind him, flaming hair crackling with the energy of a warm campfire.]

Yeah sure, but y' might as well go with th' blue eyes then anyway right? Ain't like y' got all the dragons!

[He waves a hand while laughing about that, apparently uncaring that his own name might be 'unoriginal'. Coming from an era of rampant forum chatter, he's just glad he didn't have to add 3 digits of numerals.

He also doesn't seem too insulted by the rest of Kaiba's words- his grin failing to fade even slightly.]

Hehehe, save that for when th' duel ends! If it was abou' winnin' at times like this, I'd never play Yugi at all!

[Damn but those are some heels. Part of him can't help stare, that's impressive.

Being stuck with clawed digitigrade, he doesn't get any boots- he just gets to run and try to keep up.]

[Any indignation about his age deflates a little as Jou continues. Kieran absent-mindedly twirls the lock of loose hair, making the Hydrapple with horns chase it the wiggling finger.]

Yeah... I mean... It's okay. I deserve it... But d-don't worry too much about it! It's fine! Really! Hell is pretty okay! I mean... it's really hot but I don't like the cold too much anyway. And neither does Hydrapple here, so it works out. [He doesn't want to make it a pity party so he quickly gestures to his hair as a distraction. The Hydrapple look at Kieran and then look to Jou confusedly.]

Yuugi's not the only one who thought about going to a casino about everything. Kaiba was a regular at several establishments, at least until they inevitably kicked him out over his run of luck.

It's not as if he's always counting cards, and really, that can't be considered cheating, can it? It's rote memorization, get off his back about it.

Regardless, he's exploring the fare at this point, walking the floor and trying to pick out his next conquest. It's then that he sees him.

The shock of bright-colored hair is unmistakable, even while the rest of the form was ensconced within the scales of a dragon, much like himself. However, whereas Kaiba was head to toe a Blue-Eyes, Yuugi was only accented with Gandora's scales and features, but the face...it remained untouched.

Yuugi Mutou.

His remaining rival. So he's here too, trapped by the same "clerical error" as Kaiba himself?

It takes him a moment to compose himself, faced with the sight of someone he actually didn't dislike. But he does, eventually, and with a part of his maw, he calls out:

"They really will let anyone in here! Mheheh!"

Listen. That's as mild an insult as he'll ever give. Take the win. And ignore how his tail flicks from side to side, betraying some kind of emotion. Too soon to tell.

[ He's still getting used to "Ryou can hear me when I talk to other people now, so if he doesn't like me calling him 'landlord' then I should probably. maybe. stop,," - but anyway, more importantly, time travel! ]

[Strangely, the wall punch thing does Not surprise him. At least, the skepticism anyway.] Well yeah, my suit didn't, but I told yah I could prove it when I got my body back right?

I mean 'm all weird an' Actually spidery now... [So he mutters, staring at a fuzzy hand.] ...But I tested it, I still got th' powers!

...Well, I have a special tattoo around my left eye that lets me see the augmented reality effects for the duels, and a bracelet that lets me teleport around and control Number Cards.

[ His eyebrows go up. ]

Oh, wow, Pegasus is still kicking? That's a while.

[ Wait, no, there's more stuff that's not adding up now. His expression shifts back into a frown. ]

...I was on speaking terms with Ryo-[ wait, Ryou's not actually here ]-my land-[ ooooor maybe he should get into the habit now anyway?

The conversation halts as he has to think about the wisdom in that.

...Nah. ]-my landlord long before either of us were on speaking terms with you. We had Yugi passing messages even before the Puzzle changed things.

[ He'd ask more about the 'apparently lost your body' thing, but that frankly just sounds reasonable, he's sure Jonouchi had an out-of-body excursion or two at some point. ]

That voice. He'd know that voice anywhere. It was hard not to when so many of his pivotal life moments included him.

His tail stood up straight and vibrated, and his wings fluttered--

"You know me. You can't keep me away from a good game--"

He turned around.

[He looks a bit uncomfortable now. Fact is, there wasn't really time to think about it...aw dang did he kill someone Again???]

Nyhhh...man this isn't making any sense though, you didn't even get to meet the others until we were on that island!! How do we remember two differen' things like this!

Javert turned an raised an eyebrow at him. "Why would my pressence make any difference? You're better off with it. You don't belong down here."

Kaiba steps closer, arms crossed in front of him. Despite all efforts, when he hears Yuugi's response, he can't help the way his wings briefly flick open, though he pulls them in firmly behind him again as soon as he realizes. No. None of that. No involuntary motions.

"And who else would it be?"

Who else would wear these scales proudly, who else could boast the allegiance of his ace? Being a dragon is weird, but being this dragon? That's expected.

On the flipside, he doesn't expect those kinds of features on Yuugi. He supposes...most people who show up here don't look human anymore, but Gandora was still a choice. Not a terrible one--Kaiba favors dragons, so it's about time his rival was forced to do so as well--but still weird.

Cyan slit pupils appraise Yuugi's design without a single hint of hesitation. Interesting.

[Fell?? Through... what???

Honestly that was the last thing on his mind because by the Gods, there was a familiar voice!

Not uh. The beak. That was less familiar.

Still.

Yuugi's tail raised immediately, curling at the end like a cat's. His wings fluttered slightly.]

Jou...Jounouchi! It's you!

[Have the full force of his beaming smile.]

.... that....is You, right?

I'm not taking you to my room. The lobby's good enough for this kind of thing. And I'd thank you not to tell me how to to enjoy my game.

[Because it is his game. He might not have made it, but indisputably, it was a pillar of Kaiba's personality, to be great at this game--the best, aside from...

Hmph. Of course Jounouchi would remind him of such an unpleasant memory, tied in his failure that got him here.

His tail definitely isn't lashing back and forth in annoyance. Nope.

He ignores the urge to slam his tail back on the ground in aggravation, and instead allows the instinctual curl of his lip upward, baring his teeth as he moves to a table centered in the lobby of the hotel, cleared of all objects. Yeah, he did that. And he catches a seat in the small sofa to one side, expecting Jounouchi to occupy the seat across him.]

Go on then. Let's get started.

[Don't mind him, he's just covetously glaring at Jou's Duel Disk without yet pulling his own deck out. If only he could take it, in order to replicate it with what parts he has...]

Well... this was...

First Jonouchi as a bird, then Kaiba as a dragon. It was suiting, though; it was as though he was always like that, gleaming white scales and brilliant blue eyes.

Geez, Yuugi almost looked boring by comparison.

"That's fair. I can't imagine a anyone else looking like a Blue Eyes. Not without you suing them first."

Or challenging them to a card game.

He smiled, friendly and warm.

"It suits you."

And anyway, that's not important! While Yuugi's tail is geared for cat behavior, apparently Jonouchi's is more canid, given the way the wound up thing is swishing back and forth.

[The teen coughs a bit.] Of course it is..!! Who else would it be!!!

[Aside from the whole, looks barely like himself thing, shhh shhh!!]

[It is astoundingly hard for him to not say names here. He's not letting himself, because he doesn't trust himself not to slip on anything, but man. It's hard.

Fixing Kaiba with a rather dry frown as they walk though, he huffs.] Alrigh' though, your choice t' act like someone pissed in yer cereal...

[But enough of the poor mood, it's duel time. Jonouchi stretches his arms and wings out behind him as he goes to sit across from the other, folding the latter of things back close as he takes the duel disk off- and the winter coat. He hardly needs that while he's down here after all.]

[The deck comes out of his pocket first, and as he prepares to pass it over for shuffling, he pauses.

Kaiba is not very subtle.]

....Y'know, uh...if it means y' get more of th' things built faster, you can just...borrow mine...

It's just virtual graphics overlaid on reality. Normally you need a D-Gazer device to see the AR effects used for duels, but I have a special tattoo marking.

And Numbers are Duel Monster cards, but require special methods to control them. Number 6: Chronomaly Atlandis is one of them. :)

[Conveniently not mentioning the part about Numbers controlling most people...]
