TDM 005: Ch-ch-changes!

A, Garden Level - Autumn Celebrations!
[It may be November in the real world but when you're dead time is fake! So this week/month GARDENFEST is happening...........aka a bootleg mishmash of Oktoberfest and an Xmas Market. In general: PARTY TIME.
Drinks! Foods! Bad singing!! Drunkenly built gingerbread houses! You're thrown in a festive identity clash of imps and cherubs in the garden playing music that doesn't match or shoving drinks at you. Don't worry, if you don't want a mug of beer, it might just be gingerale! Anyway sorry you died but PARTY PARTY JOIN US JOIN US--]

B, Hell Level: ICE to meet you!
[Down at the HellRaiser hotel, the hellish amenities await your every need, but spooky season is over. Aside from the usual, er, allure of Hell, it also seems to be slowly freezing over. Ruh roh. It's not much now, but occasionally you may be hit by a teeny tiny icicle as you explore, awww. Other times it's a whole fucking STALACTITE crashes down on you. Better dodge or hope someone pushes you out the way!! Look out for slick sidewalks too!
Otherwise, hey have some fun in Hell!! Go to a club, get some drugs, go to a casino, win and get mugged!! Ever have a drink made out of literal MAGMA? Go on, try it!! Slaps hell's cobbled brimstone you can fit so much chaos down here!]

C, Heaven Level: Spice, spice, baby.
[Heaven-side, the cherubs are ready to welcome you and give you the VIP treatment!! Massages! Manipedis! Lavish outfits and attention! You can raise your hand and just get a fucking cat sat on your lap! Truly, this is bliss!!
Oh, but it's also cozy season in Heaven! So along with the best fits for the chillier weather, There are an assortment of beverages being offered by angels for you to sample (CW Mind Manipulation):
Apple Spiced Latte- Tasty and earthy! But you suddenly feel more subservient.
Cranberry Spiced Latte- A bit tart but it works. This might make you sassier than usual.
Stuffing Spiced Latte- There is no effect. Why would you drink this you monster.
For the TDM you can find small cherub-run kiosks with these drinks on any level you prefer! If that's not your cuppa joe, feel free to explore the beauty of Heaven per usual! The beach! Boardwalk! All the cafes!! Whatever heaven should have, you can likely find it.]

Yuugi's words are like sunbeams shining onto Marik's heart. He basks in them, beaming, looking for a moment like the little boy for whom his sister still mistakes him sometimes.
"Isn't it?" he enthuses. "I've done a complete survey of the kiosks, and this one serves the best variation on this drink. It's all about the spice to coffee ratio. I'm a natural at picking up this sort of thing."
Which is a fancy way of saying "I'm detail-oriented, sensation-starved, and curious, so I will try anything once so long as it's not meat-based, because that texture is Disgusting."
He grins. Yuugi enjoying the drink he picked (Yuugi! His friend Yuugi! Yuugi, who looked out for him, and saved him! Yuugi, who he didn't realize until exactly this second he wanted to make happy so badly but wow, when you owe a man your soul, surely that's normal and not something worth examining for outside influence at all!) has made his week. This really is Paradise. Everything is perfect! Which reminds him....
"Just like I can tell you're a denizen of Heaven."
Pause for effect.
"Like me."
no subject
His friend! His good friend from Egypt, who was also in heaven?! That meant he had more friends!
More friends was always a blessing, right?
Yuugi took another sip, and his wings fluttered behind him, almost vibrating with joy.
"You're from Heaven, too. I'm glad! It's so much better with friends."
Another little sip.
Okay, one more.
Siiiiiiiiiip.
no subject
In fact - that gives him an Idea.
"Hey, Yuugi."
Marik's eyes are bright, hopeful. Compliant. "What else do you like to do with friends? I want to be the best friend for you I can! Please, tell me!"
no subject
Yuugi's gems pulsed a cheerful pink, and he...yup, that was floating. He was definitely floating just a little bit above the ground as hips tail and wings vibrated in tandem.
"Oh! I do all kinds of things with friends!"
Look at that smile, Marik. That is the innocent, carefree smile of a man whose heart is part puppy.
"I love to play games, though! Like any game! Games teach you so much about your friends, and it's fun to really sit down and play together!"
That...
That was a giggle.
"I always wanted to play games with you, Marik."
this is my headcanon for why marik's pockets are so huge. and rectangular.
The words burst from Marik as he realizes he means them with all his heart. He's never wanted anything so badly as he wants to play a game with Yuugi. The outside world? Pff. Old news. His younger self clearly had the foresight to know if he never got there, he wouldn't ever be able to play a game with his friend Yuugi. "Let's play a game right now, Yuugi. Any game you want. What game do you want to play? Though I did come prepared..."
Look, he's got. Wow, he fit a deckbox into one of his cargo pockets and a box of spare cards into the other. Don't think too hard about how his clothes are also part of his slime when he liquifies, it's cartoon physics.
...Don't think too hard about how he's so excited he's sort of shimmering, too. His slime is aquiver with joy. They are both buzzing with the delight of FRIENDSHIP (a normal thing to have happen).
"If you don't have your Deck I can lend you an extra!"
no subject
Look at his gems, Marik. Look at how they're a kaleidoscope of bright rainbow colors of pure joy. It's like Christmas came early, okay?
"I have one on me!" Yuugi chirped -- actually chirped, like a dragon -- as his wings quivered. "Let's have a fun duel, as friends! I've always felt that games can say things that people can't, so let's get to know each other better, too!"
no subject
"I'd love that." Marik looks around, determined to make this happen, because Yuugi wants it to happen, and he wants everything Yuugi wants. That's what being a friend means. "Look, here's a table."
There are cherubs sitting at it, but that's okay, he can fix that. Marik heads over and begins to drag the table towards Yuugi, leaving the two cherubs blinking in their chairs. One is still holding a hot drink of its own.
HE FOUND A TABLE, YUUGI! HE'S DOING EXACTLY WHAT WILL MAKE YOU HAPPY BECAUSE THAT MAKES HIM HAPPY TOO.
no subject
Those were Cherubs. At the table.
They were just sitting there, minding their own business, and Marik was just dragging a table for them to play on without thinking about whether or not others were sitting at it.
How absolutely thoughtful of him!
But there were only two chairs! Don't worry, though! Yuugi's got this covered; see, he grabbed two extra chairs so that everyone can sit at the table together!
no subject
"Such language, Carl," says the other. "Gauche."
Marik, meanwhile, is so excited to begin Dueling. He hurries to help Yuugi with the chairs, too, though from the way he's setting them up he hasn't realized Carl & co. will be joining them.....
no subject
(Yuugi no.)
"Oh!" Yuugi smiled, as though this entire thing was normal. "We're going to be playing a game! Did you want to join us? I hope we're not bothering you!"
(OF COURSE YOU'RE BOTHERING THEM YUUGI PLS--)
no subject
With Carl in it.
"Come on over, sir!"
Carl gapes. Carl bleats, dismayed.
"They're lettin' baaaaaaa-d people into Heaven now!!"
no subject
"He's my friend, and he came into Heaven because he has a good heart!"
Yuugi, please stop. You are gonna hurt yourself.
no subject
Marik pauses, concerned. If Yuugi says he's good, then he's good.....but if Carl says he's bad, then he's bad......
He looks over at Yuugi. What should he do.....? Is he good or bad?
no subject
Look at that smile, Carl. Can you say no to that? Look at the wholehearted way he believes in his friend!!
"Marik is a good person and he belongs here!!"
no subject
"Aw, c'mon, Carl!" encourages his friend, dragging over the final chair and taking a seat. "They're being nice enough to invite us. Isn't that proof enough that they aren't that 'clerical error' everybody's talking about?"
"Er...."
"And don't you get REALLY competitive at bingo night....???"
".......Ugh......"
Marik, eager to deserve Yuugi's belief in him, tucks Carl into the table. "Here, I've got spare cards," he offers. "You can both borrow from me."
Let's see.....What to throw together for these gentlemen.....
The cherub who'd invited himself over gets counterfeit Exodia. Nice and easy to play - just draw cards and stall until you win. Carl....
....Marik gives Carl burn. BUT YUUGI SAYS HE'S A GOOD PERSON. THESE ARE JUST THE CARDS HE HAPPENS TO STILL HAVE IN HIS POSSESSION.
no subject
Golly, this was going to be fun!
Not just fun, but a game between friends, both new and old.
Games brought people together, after all, and it made Yuugi giddy, enough to leave him bouncing up and down with his wings and tail vibrating in joy.
"Thank you for joining us, guys," Yuugi said, "This is gonna be so much fun!"
no subject
SLAPS MARIK. YOU CAN FIT SO MANY TRADING CARDS IN THIS--Carl the cherub looks doubtful of that, flipping through his stack of cards in a manner that SHOULD be anatomically impossible with little hooves but ssssh. "What is this game, anyway?"
Marik snickers. He and Yuugi are doing SUCH a good deed today. They're teaching the most important life skill a person can possess.
"Duel Monsters," he proclaims. "Yuugi and I will play a game first so you can see how it works. Then we'll do a tag battle, and then a free-for-all. This will give you the ultimate Duel Monsters experience."
A grin at his friend, for whom he may be showing off a little bit. "Isn't that right, Yuugi?"
