TDM 002 / MERMAY EVENT
A: Garden Level - CLEAN UP CREW
[WHUH OH YOU'VE DIED AND ENDED UP IN THE GARDEN OF GOOD AND EVIL. A usually beautiful sight--this time it seems the water from heaven is spilling over! Watch your step or you might get a stream of ocean water cascading atop your head like a prop bucket.
The imps and cherubs are hard at work with a water pump tho!! They've got this, really. "Don't mind us, we're just--doing paperwork! Yep!! THAT'S ALL IT IS."
Reassuring. More alarming, you may have noticed that you've changed. Depending on your alignment, you may have more heavenly or hellish traits.............or just for May, you may have AQUATIC traits. That's not worrying!!
Well as some oldbies get teleported to the garden as well, maybe you can ask them some questions!!]
B: HECK-LING TIMES
[Now if you take the elevator down to Hell's Hotel, it's water free! However you may be IMMEDIATELY assaulted by some imps who try to jab you with a shiv. Standard hell greeting!! Maybe someone intervenes or maybe you can like, just punch them. The sheep imps ain't shit. The rest of the hotel is surprisingly nice though, and if you have a room assignment there, you'll find it honestly pretty accommodating.
BUT OUTSIDE? Oh buddy is it still flooded!! Some imps are working hard to pump the water out, but it has the added effect of creating whirlpools. Get sucked into one and not only will you be tossed and turned like laundry, but there's a chance a MEMORY will be tossed right out of you! This could be anything from forgetting your name, your bestie's face, where you live, whatever! Don't worry, the effect will wear off in a few hours, or until someone finds the memory and gives it back to you (in the form of floating seashells that will float near the whirlpools!)]
C: HEAVENLY SING-A-LONGS
[Take the elevator up, and you step in the luxurious Heavenly Hotel! And you may be IMMEDIATELY assaulted by sheep cherubs spritzing you with perfumes or colognes or dolling up your hair. They're here to serve!! Once you get rid of those pests though, feel free to explore the ludicrously divine amenities of the hotel.
OUTSIDE isn't nearly as flooded as Hell, though the local ocean has still expanded greatly, but instead there's a different problem...........there are crabs. And seagulls. And fish?? Singing. They're singing SO much.
You may find a chorus of sea critters at any point in Heaven abruptly bursting into a kiss-the-girl style musical, accidentally revealing a crush you might have, or a silly secret. Better hope passing angels and other residents aren't listening too hard! Of course you can just punt the annoying creatures away. Or eat them. That's an option too, sure. ]

-All effects are optional and last as long as it's fun for you to play with them!
-TDM characters can have mermaid forms or not, up to you!
-This TDM is open to all! For now, you do NOT need to join the comm to play in it!

[It's all coming back to him. He doesn't know how death works for everyone but from his perspective, Kaito's been chugging along in this weird 'afterlife' in various areas for 2+ years. Still, those hellish few weeks are still mostly fresh in his mind.]
You underestimated Shuichi. He figured out the whole plan, and so Monokuma called it right. But I figured that might happened, so gave up before the others could get punished.
.....wasn't a totally bad gambit though. They still survived through the end, from what I heard. So, if that gives ya any peace, that's something.

After trying everything someone with an evil overlord rep could possibly do, he couldn't stop his idiot classmates from being manipulated into killing each other. All of that, for nothing. ]

Oh, wait. That's right. Most of our class died before the end, didn't they? They wouldn't know for sure even if they did get stuck in this weird place with us. So unless the true mastermind shows up or one of the survivors gets sent here by mistake I have no choice but to believe you...

Then..........contemplates exactly how much he should actually tell. Hm.]
It's been a lot longer for me than it has for you for whatever reason, but uh. What do the kids say--spoilers? Yeah, spoilers.
So uuuh. Tsumuugs was the mastermind! Pulled some wild shit. She told me when she died. But Shuichi and the others all outwitted her, and got out, though Keebo had to self destruct. Anyway, she's out there working on herself now. Hopefully not still being an evil otaku.
And before you're like "how are you gonna believe the mastermind," Glo--er, Maki Roll showed up here a little before you, before they sent her home. Confirmed the whole thing. So yeah, thanks to everyone's sacrifices, they stopped the mastermind and ended the killing game.
So, those three are living their best lives now. So you can rest easy there.

Huh... So the "plain" otaku was behind the whole thing... Shoulda known to suspect the girl who kept blending into the background...
[ Weird time bullshit and the noticable slip up on Maki's name aside... It somehow makes sense? Though now he's trying to remember the last time Tsumugi acted suspicious and the only thing he could think of was... ]
So, how'd Maki, Saihara and Himiko figure it out? Did anyone tell you?

And Shuichi and the others--guess they proved it all head on and uh, pulled back the curtains so to speak.
The world wasn't destroyed. It was all a set up. Sooooo. . .yeah. It was just the work of a sick fangirl who wanted a good show. And it blew up in his face.
[he's deliberately holding back on the whole it's a TV show thing and their personalities were fabricated, partially because he knows Kokichi will NOT take that well, and partially because oops thanks to ryslig memory shenanigans, he still 100% believes his own bullshit, so he can't really say all that in full confidence. So, welp!!]
But yeah, that's basically it! They figured it all out and got a happy ending. Too bad it took the rest of us dying but, I'm proud of 'em regardless.

[ Would also explain what that "remnant of despair" bullshit Maki mentioned was, even though he still has no idea what the hell that meant. For all he knew, Tsumugi could have been a huge fan of despair. No way to be totally sure, but...
At least he doesn't have to worry about the killing game anymore. Finally. ]

Aside from Harukawa, nah. Which probably means this ain't a "true" after life for some folks, but all the better. If the rest of them are getting second chances somewhere else just like Tsumugi, well, good for them.
