TDM 002 / MERMAY EVENT

A: Garden Level - CLEAN UP CREW
[WHUH OH YOU'VE DIED AND ENDED UP IN THE GARDEN OF GOOD AND EVIL. A usually beautiful sight--this time it seems the water from heaven is spilling over! Watch your step or you might get a stream of ocean water cascading atop your head like a prop bucket.
The imps and cherubs are hard at work with a water pump tho!! They've got this, really. "Don't mind us, we're just--doing paperwork! Yep!! THAT'S ALL IT IS."
Reassuring. More alarming, you may have noticed that you've changed. Depending on your alignment, you may have more heavenly or hellish traits.............or just for May, you may have AQUATIC traits. That's not worrying!!
Well as some oldbies get teleported to the garden as well, maybe you can ask them some questions!!]

B: HECK-LING TIMES
[Now if you take the elevator down to Hell's Hotel, it's water free! However you may be IMMEDIATELY assaulted by some imps who try to jab you with a shiv. Standard hell greeting!! Maybe someone intervenes or maybe you can like, just punch them. The sheep imps ain't shit. The rest of the hotel is surprisingly nice though, and if you have a room assignment there, you'll find it honestly pretty accommodating.
BUT OUTSIDE? Oh buddy is it still flooded!! Some imps are working hard to pump the water out, but it has the added effect of creating whirlpools. Get sucked into one and not only will you be tossed and turned like laundry, but there's a chance a MEMORY will be tossed right out of you! This could be anything from forgetting your name, your bestie's face, where you live, whatever! Don't worry, the effect will wear off in a few hours, or until someone finds the memory and gives it back to you (in the form of floating seashells that will float near the whirlpools!)]

C: HEAVENLY SING-A-LONGS
[Take the elevator up, and you step in the luxurious Heavenly Hotel! And you may be IMMEDIATELY assaulted by sheep cherubs spritzing you with perfumes or colognes or dolling up your hair. They're here to serve!! Once you get rid of those pests though, feel free to explore the ludicrously divine amenities of the hotel.
OUTSIDE isn't nearly as flooded as Hell, though the local ocean has still expanded greatly, but instead there's a different problem...........there are crabs. And seagulls. And fish?? Singing. They're singing SO much.
You may find a chorus of sea critters at any point in Heaven abruptly bursting into a kiss-the-girl style musical, accidentally revealing a crush you might have, or a silly secret. Better hope passing angels and other residents aren't listening too hard! Of course you can just punt the annoying creatures away. Or eat them. That's an option too, sure. ]
OOC NOTES:
-All effects are optional and last as long as it's fun for you to play with them!

Kazuma takes a moment to swallow before answering her back.)
You’re right! The smokey flavor definitely improved on it.

[Culinary mastery? Also nice work on your mouth full translating skills Kazuma, A+ marks!]
Anyways, I came up the elevator to see if I could find Aqua somewhere around here. If she hasn't resurrected us, that means she probably died too.
[And you can bet your butt that she'd never let them put her in hell.]
Once we find her, we can probably get this whole afterlife thing worked out.
[Oh ye of great optimism.]

(Kazuma more likely appreciated the style and poses of the Crimson Demon clan than anything else. Megumin’s mother has…a unique sense of intelligence in regards to her daughter.
Putting Darkness, her own daughter and Aqua to sleep showcased a lot of underlying issues in his opinion!)
More than likely, since I wasn’t able to save her from being eaten. You really think they’ll let us go home? Seems like this place runs differently than the afterlife I’m used to.
(He’s hopeful but has some reservations about things. The crabs and fish have begun humming quietly in the background while they ate.)

Well Aqua was able to browbeat heaven into allowing you back despite not belonging to our world? I'm sure she knows a thing or two about bullying heaven's management into getting things done.
[Okay... she is a little worried since this seems to be a different heaven... but it's probably fine, right?]
If nothing else time probably works differently here, so by the time we get back it might even be that no time will have passed!
[That was absloute speculation on her part since time certainly seemed to flow the same back home and with heaven, but she's read a lot of books where that wasn't the case!]
no subject
…Actually he totally could, but Megumin’s not the type to up and run.)
True. I’d switch her for Lady Eris any day, but Aqua has the knack of getting things done right…when she’s not screwing up my plans! She’s probably gonna screw this up for us too!
(He’s not wrong. 9/10, every plan Kazuma’s set up has that single chance of being thrown onto its butt by Aqua’s own logic and standards. Namely, her ENTIRE PRESENCE!
Why is he trying to find her again?)
no subject
even though the thought of it made her cry. She was probably the best for taking down the demon king if you were looking for the best min-max build???]I mean... she doesn't always screw up the plan? Just... often... usually does?
[Now Kazuma is pointing out the biggest major flaw in their plan relying on Aqua... Aqua was far from the most reliable. Almost everything that went wrong was because Aqua did a thing.]
Umm... we're going to be stuck here a really long time aren't we?
no subject
I could flip a coin numerous times, and for every single time I get heads, that’s how many times Aqua has screwed up my plans for our party.
(Direct and to the point. Kazuma nods in response to Megumin’s question.)
Yeah. Better chance of the 3 of us finding a home to live in than getting back home together with Aqua.
no subject
[Megumin seems to have come around to Kazuma's mind set on their chances here rather quickly.]
Well... I have an apartment in hell they gave me, if you want to crash there? I've liked hell a lot more than heaven so far.
[Less singing, more fire, and nobody preaching virtues to them like the Axis cult?]
no subject
(Except for one match, he’s virtually guaranteed a victory at this particular game. Kazuma looks around at heaven a little bit more while the crabs and fish seem to be winding down with the song, sighs and takes a few more bites of his fish.)
Sure! Lady Eris isn’t here from what I can tell and I’m not in the mood to see Aqua right now. We can visit again when the wildlife isn’t serenading us.
(Kazuma quickly finishes his fish off before looking toward Megumin with a small smile and held out his hand, curious to see exactly what her place looked like and how it compares to this part of the afterlife.)
So…why do you prefer hell over heaven? Seems contradictory and I’m sure it’s way hotter than heaven is.
no subject
[Megumin can't help but giggle a bit as she offers Kazuma her hand. Perhaps it wasn't the most romantic of gestures, but Megumin didn't exactly intend it to be one.]
As much as I'd like to see if she's here, I think coming back later is a better plan. Besides, I think you might actually appreciate what hell has to offer.
[NOT a sentence Megumin ever thought she'd say, but she'd never been to hell before recently. She dragged Kazuma over towards the elevator, and slowly decended to The Hell Raiser Hotel!]
So... a bit different than you were expecting? As I understand it, there are nice parts of hell like this one, and worse parts like you'd normally imagine. I think since the management "live" here, they prefer certain luxuries.
[The floor below them was still a bit flooded with the occasional whirlpool, but this hallway seemed cleared up and had less imps at work.]
Oh and this should probably be obvious, but don't blindly trust the imps. They will prank you just for laughs.
[She's just going to lead him down the hall past several empty bedrooms before they get to hers. If anything, hers looks even more fiery and demonic themed, but probably because Megumin wanted it that way.]
Before you decide these rooms are so nice you would like to embrace the shut in lifestyle, I hear hell has quite the red light district, casinos, and other "dens of sin" to visit. What do you say? Feeling lucky?
