TDM 004: BACK TO SCHOOL

A: Garden Level - Fall IN!
[The garden is full of fruits and overflowing with milk and honey as usual, truly a paradise. But gasp, what's this? A PALLET CHANGE? Instead of the typical lush green, it's taken on more Autumn colors for AestheticTM. It's still pleasantly warm as usual though, for current denizens and newbies alike, and it's gosh darn nice to hang out in.
But speaking of newbies and passerbys! If you pop in, you'll find yourself landing in a pile of colorful leaves. But these ain't no normal leaves!! Depending on the color, you may experience the following:
Yellow- Get energized nerd!! Despite just dying, you're suddenly filled to the brim with joy, and far more amicable to the first people you see.
Orange- Ever heard of love at first sight?? IT'S HAPPENING NOW. You may become absolutely smitten with the first few folks that help you out of your pile.
Red- Or the complete opposite! You're filled with the POWER OF AGGRO and ready to argue or fight with whoever you see first!
Or maybe you fall in a pile of mixed leaves that give you a combo of effects, or nullify the effect so nothing happens! Up to you. ]

B, Hell Level: Spooky Scary Skeletons
[Down at the HellRaiser hotel, it's already practically halloween 24/7, but now even more so! The standard hellish hotel amenities are available--massages, hot saunas, all the booze and drugs you could ever want, room service, etc!
But the perpetual night life is where it's at. In celebration of the most unholy season of the year (citation needed), the clubs are HOPPING and playing music loud enough it could raise the (un)dead. . .literally! You could be walking on your way back from getting a burger, and skeleton or zombie bursts from the ground! They might attack you or. . .try to get you to dance with them. Weird. Either way, don't linger too long, or they'll try to get you to go back further into the depths with them. . .
Alternatively maybe you're just accosted by some normal party demons/imps and dragged into a club. Have fun!]

C, Heaven Level: The Holy Spirit Halloween
[Heaven-side, the heavenly hotel is its normal, pampering self, complete with every luxurious amenity you could imagine. However, it seems some parts of the hotel are decorated with more. . .demonic accents??
It's not just the hotel either. Outside, spot angels in all sorts of costumes, ranging from black cats to silly godzilla rubber suits. That's right, TIS THE SEASON, and it's the only time angels get to indulge in more silly ~sinful~ desires! Is this cultural appropriation?? Don't worry about it.
As for you, if you're not chillin' at a cat cafe or the gorgeous beach or a coffee shop, you may find a cherub stuffing you into a silly costume. When in Rome!! You may also come across huge golden depots full of costumes, so feel free to shop around! The cherubs within will also see to your every need, as if they're extensions of the hotel as well]

Inspector Javert | Les Miserables Movie
[Inspector Javert was extremely confused. The last thing he remembered was his death and now he was standing in some kind of garden. Judging by it's changing colors it was fall. It was winter time where he was from. He didn't like this one bit.
Was this some kind of challenge he had to face before he was allowed to rest? Or was it because of his choice he was sent here? He looked at the shackles around his wrists and wondered what this all meant.
He was never a people person. And it was hard for him to actually ask for help. He usually figured out everything on his own. That's how it always had been. Everything had to be. He could never trust anyone enough. He at least had his police uniform and that offered some sort of comfort. Not that he understood what it meant for here.
Warily he decided to explore the garden and study the different leaves. He picked up the different color leaves but felt drawn toward the yellow leaves. Soon enough he had a handful of them. He felt a sense of peace after a while and found himself enjoying the atmosphere of the garden. It also gave him enough drive to want to approach strangers, he normally would have ignored. It felt strange.]
Can someone tell me what the purpose of this garden is and why we were forced here?
[Hell]
[He found the hotel easily enough, but wasn't fond of what he saw with in it. It caused his mood to return to it's regular dismal view. It reminded him of the hell whole he crawled out from as a kid. Mentally this was doing a number on his already shaken state of mind. He ran a hand through his hair as he tried to calm his nerves.
He was tempted to order some wine as a way to calm his nerves, but he understood that this hotel seemed to prey on such vices and Javert wasn't going to give into that.
He kicked at a skeleton that tried to grab his legs. It quickly pulled away and looked for an easier target. He didn't even question the skeleton. He just wanted to hide away and collect his thoughts. The loud music was too much for him. He clinched his fists.]
This is ridiculous.
[He said to no one in particular as he stormed away from the hotel for the time being.]
Garden
[A bow!] Hi, sorry! You died! But then things got really weird! Because the paperwork for the afterlife got messed up because they're trying some new technology, new ideas, and Chronus -- [SIDE GLANCE.] That is to say time is on the fritz.
I'm Lynette. Lynette Mirror. My paperwork is all jammed too, because I shouldn't be here, no one should. But please don't blame the sheep, they're doing their best!
Would you like coffee?
no subject
You just merely confirmed everything for me. I didn't want to believe it. I still don't. There's actual paper work involved in the afterlife?
[He couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. He does give a nod in return toward the bow. He wasn't too familiar with the gesture, but knew enough it was important way of greeting people in other cultures.]
I'm Inspector Javert. [His paper would should have been simple to deal with. So he doesn't get why they have him here.] ...If you have tea that would be preferable. I believe that coffee won't help me right now.
no subject
Not normally. And there shouldn't be any paperwork for me at all. I suspect paperwork is their codeword to keep people from panicking.
Yes, there's... lots of different tea too. But it's topside, do you mind? It's not so bad.
Have you ever had bubble tea, Inspector Sir?
no subject
I suppose I can understand that method. It's similar to back home. Topside, bubble tea?
[He wasn't so sure about that.] I would rather stick with something simple for now if that is possible.
no subject
Oh, I guess they call it Heaven? It's not like the Celestia realm I know of.
There's an elevator that goes up and down between the three levels.
no subject
[He wasn't familiar with such a term. While a lot of advancement was happening in France, there was so much more Javert was going to have to get to use to and understand here. The fact he's asking such a question should give her a clue of what time he's coming from.]

[He couldn't help but be curious. The description seemed to make enough sense that he was able to accept it. It was certainly better then a lot of stairs.]

Hell (I'm sorry.)
You won't hear footsteps. The fellow is floating just behind, not making his presence known until you've gotten a good look at the plethora of sin in the city of Hell. ]
Pff, THIS is RIDICULOUS? I've seen things that make WAY LESS SENSE than VICE CITY here.
[ Says the cracked triangle with limbs, a single eye, and a top hat. ]
[Omg]
What. Are. You. Supposed. To. Be?!
[He didn't care if he was being rude, at this point Javert wasn't sure how to react.]
(This will surely end well.)
[ Mmmn, Bill's gonna see if he can peek into Javert's mind a little. Just enough to rwally see who he's dealing with. ]
(Extremely. This literally made my day.)
It's Inspector Javert, from France's police force!
[Goodluck trying to read his mind. He has so many walls up mentally on a regular bases. It's just how he is.]
It still doesn't explain what you are.
(Good) 1/2
OH NO, a COP. WHATEVER will I DO-
2/2
[ He is absolutely prodding Javert's chest as he says that, retracting his comically overstretched arm before it gets grabbed. ]
If only you had a more OPEN MIND! Then maybe a MISERABLE PILE OF MEAT like you could FULLY COMPREHEND a being like ME!
......
[That was awfully bold of him. Regardless if he had no power here, it did not earn that right to prod at him like some kind of cattle. He smart to retract that hand before he was grabbed. Should he try again, he will end up like the skeleton.]
I am trying to make sense of this place, you are not helping! If you are expecting pity, that is that last thing you will get from me.
no subject
[ Unfortunately, Bill does not believe in any kind of authority. This may come to bite him in the bottom side sooner or later. ]
HAHA! IT'S HILARIOUS how you have to TRY MAKING SENSE of EVERYTHING AROUND YOU. [ He begins to float around Javert, staying just out of reach yet still tauntingly close. ] Ever think that maybe THINGS DON'T MAKE SENSE and you're just DELUDING YOURSELF by TRYING TO MAKE SENSE OF IT ALL?
[ Yes, Bill. Dangle the idea of natural chaos in front of Javert's face. See what happens. ]
no subject
[With that he turns away.]
1/2
[ He floats in place... Stunned for a moment... ]
2/2
... OKAY, WISE GUY. ARE WE GOING TO PSYCHOANALYZE PEOPLE WE JUST MET? BECAUSE I CAN SEE INTO THE MIND OF ANYTHING WITH NEURONS, AND I'M NOT AFRAID TO DREDGE UP YOUR WORST NIGHTMARES IF YOU DO THAT AGAIN!
[ If he had full power, he wouldn't need to bluff. But the sheep are power nerfing jerks so here we are. ]

Garden.
[ the man he has approached is shorter in stature but what he lacks in height he more than makes up for in presence due to the six white wings that occasionally flutter behind him and the ornate halo hovering above his head. ]
Or at least I can tell you the purpose of this Garden. This one, I’m afraid, pales in comparison to the original—as most imitations do. This one I liken to limbo, a place where souls go to gather before they ultimately ascend to Heaven or descend to Hell.
You can travel between the two realms here using the elevator once you’ve settled in. If you have other questions, I will answer them to the best of my ability. This must be quite jarring for you.
[ his attention briefly turns to Javert’s shackles as he takes a step or two closer, gesturing around them idly as he speaks. ]
Unfortunately, you know as much as I do as far as why we have been brought here. I’m compiling a list of everything I’ve found out from the other denizens of this place. When I’ve completed it, you’re more than welcome to it.
My name is Michael, and you are?
no subject
Then our actions here will probably decide our final fate?
[He frowned a bit as he thought things over. He really wished he could hide the shackles, but unfortunately couldn't. But at the introduction he titled his head.]
I'm Inspector Javert, or Javert will suffice. I once worked for the police force in France before I found myself here. I feel that everything here is a mockery against everything I fought against. Perhaps, there is a way I can help? It will give me some kind of purpose here. Or are there other jobs that we can do?
no subject
[ he gestures to the shackles and, noticing his obvious disdain for them, he reaches out and taps a finger against a cuff as if to test out its strength. ]
Well then, Inspector Javert, I think you would be more helpful without these. It would’ve been easier for me to take care of them at home, but I can try to remove them if you’ll allow it?
[ obviously he doesn’t want to wear them, but Michael is a stickler for his rules. permission needs to be granted first. ]
A man might be wary of someone who shows up in irons but it’s been drawn to my attention that actions speak louder than words. If you want to help, we could use a man with your experience. Were your fellow officers responsible for these, or was it someone else?
[ Javert doesn’t have to know that the angel he is dealing with right now has actually been in charge of judging every human soul in existence. they come to him, he weighs their sins, and they are either granted passage to Heaven or redirected to Hell. ]
You don’t have to answer that, of course. I have a similar mindset, I would prefer to make a difference rather than sit around and treat it like a vacation. Idle hands, as they say.
no subject
I'm unsure of how I received the shackles.... I've been trying to understand the reasoning behind it as I have always followed the law.
[He was genuinely confused by their purpose. He's unsure as well if it was related to his taking his own life, or if it was due to ridged and personal code that led him to such a decision. It also just reminded him of the hell whole he clawed himself out of that he didn't want to return to.]
